Our Values

Promoting the Culture of Fantasy

Fantasy is a cultural niche that is certainly specialized but very promising. On one hand, it is an ancient genre deeply rooted in our heritage of tales and legends. On the other, it is widely disseminated in literature, cinema, gaming... which makes it increasingly popular. Fantasy, an art with multiple facets and diverse influences, is expressed through its language, its music, its ancestral tradition. In short, Trolls & Légendes works to promote an authentic culture of tradition in which everyone can identify and participate.

Promoting the Culture of Tradition on a Land of Tradition

Mons, the city of the Doudou-Dragon, is the birthplace of the festival. A source of inspiration for tales and legends, the city undoubtedly offers an ideal bucolic medieval setting for the festival.
Its central position, proximity to the French border, and the communication routes it enjoys are a real asset.

Promote local craftsmanship and craftsmanship in general

The ASBL Trolls & Légendes seeks quality, authenticity, and originality. These three criteria form the basis for selecting participants for the festival.
Trolls & Légendes itself also uses local artisans for its own needs, particularly for its decoration and animations.
Thus, the fairy market is teeming with local, regional, and international artisans such as luthiers, puppeteers, blacksmiths, and many others, who come to demonstrate their sometimes very specific skills to the public…

Promote the sustainable aspect

Many efforts are made at each edition to make the event cleaner and more respectful of its environment. Numerous initiatives are taken in this regard: waste recycling, promotion of public transport, use of reusable cups, dry toilets, awareness-raising among our volunteers and artisans, seeking partnerships with TEC and SNCB, ….

Promote Accessibility

The organization of Trolls & Légendes has always worked towards festivals accessible to everyone. Thus, at each edition, we take concrete actions on the flow for easy wheelchair circulation. In our various spaces, we set up areas dedicated to people with reduced mobility, we train our volunteers, and we plan adapted activities in our different sections.
Trolls & Légendes must be a celebration for everyone, both able-bodied and less able-bodied!

Promote Access to Culture for Families

Firmly convinced that culture is one of the best vectors of education, the organizers of Trolls & Légendes are committed to making their festival a family event. Thus, many activities are organized for children (stories, face painting, games, various animations…). Beyond the programming, we want the festival to be easily accessible for families, even with strollers!
To facilitate access for families, entry is free for children under 12 years old. In short, whether you are young or old, the Trolls & Légendes festivals are made for you!
