Trolls & Legends Festival 2022

After three years of waiting and two postponements due to the pandemic, Trolls & Légendes 2022 marked unforgettable reunions in Mons, on April 15, 16, and 17. This ninth edition, themed around femininity in fantasy, honored female authors, illustrators, heroines, and creators across all aspects of the festival.
In an emotional and festive atmosphere, visitors rediscovered the magic of the festival with exceptional guests. In the literary realm, Christelle Dabos, a French author of the famous series “La Passe-Miroir,” captivated the audience with her imaginative universe and strong female characters. The comic book scene was represented by Arleston, the creator of “Lanfeust de Troy,” one of the most popular fantasy series in France and Belgium, accompanied by his collaborators.
The gaming world was in the spotlight with Johann Bodin, an artist known for his illustrations in “Magic: The Gathering” and other fantasy gaming universes. Cinema and television shone with the presence of Anna Shaffer, who plays Triss Merigold in the Netflix series “The Witcher,” and Lucy Martin, known for her role as Ingrid in “Vikings,” two actresses embodying significant female characters in modern fantasy.
On the concert side, iconic bands like Skáld, Corvus Corax, and Faun energized the evenings, bringing their medieval, folk, and Celtic sounds to this celebration of fantastic femininity.
Throughout the weekend, thematic exhibitions, signing sessions, a fairy market, activities, and discovery spaces intertwined to create a warm and immersive experience. Festival-goers were able to explore the multiple facets of female fantasy creation, in a festive atmosphere filled with shared emotions, marked by the joy of reunion.
A bright edition, driven by the richness of female fantasy creation and the enthusiasm of the Trolls & Légendes community.
