Cédric Staces is a Belgian game creator, known for founding Maître Enquêteur, a hybrid game between role-playing and board game, designed to make criminal investigations accessible to a beginner player audience. Developed within the Grumpy Green Studio collective, this game invites participants to take on the roles of investigators or the "Maître Enquêteur", the game master figure who influences the course of the plot.

The gameplay of Maître Enquêteur offers sessions of about 120 minutes, for 3 to 6 players, where each interacts with clues, interrogates suspects, and participates in an immersive investigation structured like a role-playing game, but faster and more accessible. The mechanics rely on flexible and guided storytelling, allowing players to choose the direction of the investigation without being constrained by rigid or linear scenarios, all with a simple and quick setup.
